We Are The In Crowd - Weird Kids

This album was a completely spontaneous buy a while ago when it had just been released, but I love it. It has a lovely combination of songs which is great for background music/singing around the room music/car music/karaoke in your bedroom music... There is a song for everyone: for example, my mum really likes 'Manners' and my sister and I relate over 'Don't You Worry'.

Track 1 - Long Live The Kids 6/10
Not a great opening track, not gonna lie. It really doesn't set the rest of the album up very well, and I am a little disappointed. I usually love the first song of an album because it leads onto the other songs and provides a basis for what the album is going to be like. However, having said that, it is an okay song and there is no fault with the lyrics or general vibe.

Track 2 - The Best Thing (That Never Happened) 9/10
Love this song, it has a fierce, angry vibe that is really uplifting and energizing. The only downside is that a couple of bad words/swear words are used, which means that it isn't particularly sociable to play in the car or in public, and my mum doesn't particularly like the message of the song. However I love it and think that it's fab!

Track 3 - Manners 10/10
This song is beautiful. I love the way that the male and female voices compliment each other throughout, and it has a great sound. One of my favourite songs by them ever.

Track 4 - Come Back Home 10/10
Again, I love the male/female contrast. Really spectacular song to belt at the top of my lungs. Not their most upbeat of songs but there is a time and a place for this sort of song as well as their others. Great harmonies as well!

Track 5 - Attention 9/10
Yet again, I like the male/female aspects of this song. It works really well and the only thing that I would criticize is that it isn't as good as the other songs in my opinion. But still a strong 9/10 and one of the best songs by them.

Track 6 - Dreaming Out Loud 9/10
I know its a bit predictable, but guess what? I like the male and female harmonies! (Surprise surprise). Nice, fierce song with a powerful chorus and great to sing along to: not much I can fault to be honest.

Track 7 - Remember (To Forget You) 9/10
Great male/female aspects. As with all of their songs. Not quite as memorable as their other songs but it is still a great track and the middle eight is just fab.

Track 8 - Don't You Worry 7/10
Pretty average song. The only reason that I tolerate it is because it goes 'Don't you worry about a thing, my sister', so my sister and I sing it together in the car because it is 'Our Song'. Otherwise I wouldn't bother because it is shouty, dull and not their best, with a lack of male vocals. The middle eight is quite good, but it is quite high and too powerful for me to attempt myself! Also, the way the chorus is brought back afterwards is beautiful.

Track 9 - Windows In Heaven 8/10
I really loved this song when I first heard it, but to be honest I'm a bit bored of it now. It is slow and calm, which is fine in some occasions (hence the 8/10) but a bit dull in others. When I want to listen to WATIC or any other bands like them, I don't particularly want to listen to that style of song. It does build up really well after the middle eight and towards the end.

Track 10 - Reflections 6/10
A bit of a poor end to a fantastic album in my opinion. The song lacks substance (even though it does have the male/female-ness that I love so much) and I usually skip to a different album when this song comes up.

Whole album:
This is a good album, as I said before, and is good for many purposes. Each song is unique so it doesn't have that same-y thing that some albums have, and I am really pleased that I took a gamble that day in HMV and bought it.
