Muse - Black Holes & Revelations

Track 1 - Take A Bow 7/10
This is an okay track: it does showcase some of Muse's talent and it is a nice opener to the album. Not particularly one of my favourites as it is not very upbeat, but a good song nonetheless.

Track 2 - Starlight 10/10
Love this song, it is a classic and when I saw Muse live I cried because it was so beautifully done. This song is the highlight of Muse at their best and it will always symbolize them for me (not like their new stuff which is a bit different).

Track 3 - Supermassive Black Hole 10/10
Another classic Muse song! This track is brilliant - it has a great vibe which always reminds me of Muse and the melodies are fantastic. One of those songs that you can sing anywhere and it is guaranteed that someone will join in with you!

Track 4 - Map of the Problematique 9/10
Another good song, not quite as memorable as the previous two, but still a solid track. Brilliant lyrics and the song generally flows really well: one of those songs that I initially overlooked and now pay a lot more attention to.

Track 5 - Soldier's Poem 5/10
Dreary as hell. Not great as a song: I actually have never listened to it past the first 10 seconds before today, so if I'm missing something major then please let me know. Waste of time and hearing to listen to this, bit disappointed if I'm honest.

Track 6 - Invincible 8/10
Quite a good song, melodious and distinctive. It is 5 minutes long, and you can tell - not in a bad way, but it does seem to go on for a long time! Having said that it does build up very well and has a nice structure.

Track 7 - Assassin 7/10
Pretty average song. Not my style at all, but the singing isn't too bad. What puts me off is the music at the beginning - the lyrics and singing itself is quite good, but the introduction lets it down. I like the chorus, when you get there - it is tuneful and good to listen to.

Track 8 - Exo-Politics 9/10
This was my younger sister's favourite Muse song for ages! Therefore, I have learnt to like it myself, and find it definitely listenable. The chorus is strong and powerful, and it makes it a brilliant song altogether - my favourite bit is the 'waiting patiently' section because it is beautiful and sounds great.

Track 9 - City of Delusion 10/10
Classic Muse track! Love the sort of Spanish vibe that it has with the guitar, and the lyrics are very emotive. The chorus is strong and catchy.

Track 10 - Hoodoo 5/10
Got to admit, never listened to this one past the first 5 seconds. Well, maybe once. And it wasn't great.

Track 11 - Knights of Cydonia 10/10
LOVE LOVE LOVE! One of my favourite Muse songs ever! Cannot believe it is 6 minutes long - just saw the number on my iPod and I'm shocked! It definitely doesn't seem that long a song; it by no means drags or repeats itself. I love the horse noises at the start, and how it builds up throughout to be a brilliant song. Great music, lyrics, and general overall track.

Whole album:
2006? Wow! It is older than I thought it was - remember when my dad bought this and brought it home, and it doesn't seem like that long ago! NO ONES GONNA TAKE ME ALIVE - sorry, listening to Knights of Cydonia (love it). The whole album is just brilliant, and really nostalgic as it was 8 WHOLE YEARS AGO can you believe it?!
