The Script - Science & Faith

Track 1 - You Won't Feel A Thing 9/10
When I first heard this song, I knew that this album was going to be good. It is the perfect introduction song - not too good for the rest of the album, but definitely promises a lot. It is a classic intro track and is brilliantly written.

Track 2 - For The First Time 7/10
This song is okay. It is a good song, but the rest of the album is better in my opinion. Also, I think it is very overplayed, when a lot of their songs are much better. It is a good song, however, and the lyrics are very emotive, but it has a very unnecessary use of the 's' word which I find a bit offensive because it does not suit the genre at all.

Track 3 - Nothing 8/10
This song is quite slowly paced, which isn't usually my style, but I love this song for what it is. I can play the singing part on the flute, so I have some sort of connection to it, and it is great to sing when you are feeling sad.

Track 4 - Science & Faith 10/10
This song is such genius! It is beautiful - the lyrics, melodies, composition - everything about it is just fantastic. As soon as I heard this song, it sung to me (pardon the pun) and I have loved it ever since. Such a brilliant song to listen to, and it has never got dull - even though this album was released in 2010!

Track 5 - If You Ever Come Back 10/10
Really love this song as well. It works really well and flows nicely, as well as having great lyrics. It also showcases Danny's singing talent, which I think is overlooked in some of the other songs. As well as this, the chorus is so sweet it makes the whole song worthwhile.

Track 6 - Long Gone And Moved On 8/10
This song is good, but mainly as a filler. Again, it has an irritating use of a swear word, which is one of those unfortunate things about The Script - their musical genre does not suit swearing at all, and it comes across as a bit silly. The song is melodic and is worth listening to, but it is a bit forgettable.

Track 7 - Dead Man Walking 8/10
This is another song that really shows off Danny's singing voice. He has a lot of talent which is rarely shown in the other songs. It is quite a good song, but it isn't as good as some of the others, hence the 8/10.

Track 8 - This = Love 8/10
This song is very emotive. The lyrics are quite sad and thought provoking, and, unfortunately, it does get swept along with the rest of the album, causing it to become a bit forgettable. Worth listening to, but not one that I'd particularly remember - except for the rapping bit, which is brilliant.

Track 9 - Walk Away 6/10
I don't like this song much. It doesn't flow well for me, and I can quite easily just press the skip button. It also doesn't seem to do much throughout, even though the basic melodies are good.

Track 10 - Exit Wounds 10/10
This song is brilliant and really picks the end of the album back up. The lyrics are amazing - really emotional and meaningful. It also has a great melody and is memorable, which is important for a genre like theirs when all the songs sound quite similar.

Whole Album
This album is not my usual genre, and neither are The Script anymore, but it was a few years ago so I will always hold it in my heart. I picked it because I love the album generally, and I wanted to post about something slightly different, and I really think that this is the best of The Script's albums and want to stress that. I haven't heard their 4th one yet, and, I've got to be honest, I have been put off by their 3rd album so it is highly unlikely that I will buy it. It is a shame, because this album is so brilliant and they seem to have lost their passion for good music along the way (that sounds much more harsh than I intended - but they seem to have realised how famous and popular they are, and are enjoying that more than making music; it happens to a lot of artists). I do love this album a lot and felt that it deserved some recognition for its brilliance.
